In a distinct universe Matilda is not stopped from reading books. There she is, collecting as many books as she’ll never read, book hoarding isn’t a crime, is it? Then there is also a magical world inside a wardrobe and another at platform number 9¾ at King’s Cross which is much cozier than reality.
THE PROBLEM
However, there are millions of children in India who are deprived of the magical and enriching world of books. To put in numbers--About 100 Million children are lagging in schools across India.Books play a pivotal role in the growth of children, boost their confidence, help them develop their imaginations and to cope with emotions. At least half of all children in our country are unequipped with basic literary and arithmetic skills by the end of primary school.
WHAT CAN BE DONE?
Luckily, there is a way for you to change this. Our annual book festival, Kitaab Utsav 2.0 is your way to explore, connect with and contribute to the world of these children. Through our motto we aspire to enable each children to READ, IMAGINE and GROW. By setting up libraries and donating books we can build a foundation for children to grow on. All the money raised from the book sale will be used to set up libraries in schools across India.
